1 . IndiaHandmade

  • IndiaHandmade is a government-backed digital marketplace developed by the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Textiles to enable artisans and weavers to sell handloom and handicraft products directly to consumers.
  • Launched in 2023, the platform aims to eliminate intermediaries, ensure fair remuneration, and expand market access for traditional artisans.
  • It showcases a wide range of products, including GI-tagged and One District One Product (ODOP) items, promoting India’s regional craft heritage.
  • The platform provides secure payments, free shipping, buyer protection and digital tools to improve the online presence of artisans and weavers.
  • It supports Digital India, Aatmanirbhar Bharat and the Vocal for Local initiative by strengthening digital commerce for the handicrafts sector.
  • India has about 66 lakh handloom and handicraft artisans, with women constituting a majority of the workforce; the platform seeks to onboard over 60 lakh artisans.

 

2. TribeX(formerly Adi Sanksriti)

  • TribeX is a digital platform of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for preserving, promoting and documenting tribal art, culture, languages and traditional knowledge. It was earlier launched as Adi Sanskriti (beta version) in September 2025 and was renamed TribeX in 2026.
  • It is being developed in partnership with State Tribal Research Institutes (TRIs) to ensure authentic documentation and content curation.
  • The platform comprises three key components:
    • Digital e-Learning Academy – Online courses on tribal paintings, music, textiles, artefacts and skills.
    • Socio-Cultural Repository – Digital archive of 5,000+ curated documents on tribal heritage.
    • Online Marketplace – Linked with TRIFED to enable tribal artisans to sell products directly to consumers.
  • It aims to preserve tribal cultural heritage, promote research, strengthen digital inclusion and generate sustainable livelihoods for tribal communities.
  • Initially, courses on Sohrai and Dhokra art forms from Jharkhand have been developed.
  • The Government plans to gradually expand TribeX into a Digital University offering certification courses on tribal knowledge systems.

 

3. Pashujanya Yudh Abhyas (PYA)

  • Pashujanya Yudh Abhyas (PYA) is a national-level mock drill conducted by the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD), Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying under the National One Health Mission.
  • The 3rd edition was held from 29 June–3 July 2026 at Khari village, Vidisha (Madhya Pradesh).
  • It aims to test India’s preparedness, inter-sectoral coordination and emergency response to zoonotic disease outbreaks using the One Health
  • The exercise simulated an Influenza A (H1N1) outbreak in animals with the potential to spill over to humans and wildlife.
  • It evaluated the complete response chain, including surveillance, early warning, laboratory diagnosis, biosecurity, containment, movement control and risk communication.
  • The drill involved DAHD, ICAR, ICMR, NCDC, MoEFCC, AIIMS Bhopal, ICAR-NIHSAD and State agencies under the National Joint Outbreak Response Team (NJORT)

 

4. AKASH TARANG

Syllabus Mapping: GS3: Defence Technology; Internal Security; Electronic Warfare; Indigenisation of Defence

  • AKASH TARANG is an indigenous Anti-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (Anti-UAV) Electronic Warfare (EW) System proposed for induction into the Indian Army.
  • It recently received Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) from the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) as part of capital acquisition proposals worth ₹52,000 crore.
  • The system is designed to provide effective protection against hostile drones by detecting, identifying, tracking and neutralising UAV threats through electronic warfare capabilities.
  • It will significantly strengthen the counter-drone capability of Indian Army formations, especially against low-altitude and swarm drone threats.
  • The induction supports Aatmanirbhar Bharat by promoting indigenous defence technologies and enhancing battlefield survivability

 

5. 7th National Water Awards (NWA)

Syllabus Mapping: GS2: Government Policies & Interventions • GS3: Water Resources; Conservation; Sustainable Development

  • The 7th National Water Awards (NWA) 2026 have been launched by the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD & GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti.
  • Applications are invited through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, with the last date being 28 August 2026.
  • The awards aim to promote water conservation, efficient water resource management and Jan Bhagidari by recognising exemplary practices across the country.
  • Eligible entities include States/UTs, Districts, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Dam Owning Agencies and Industries.
  • New evaluation categories include Water Resource Management, Jal Sanchay Jal Bhagidari (JSJB) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) performance.
  • The awards encourage best practices in rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, water-use efficiency, reuse of treated wastewater and community-led water management.
  • The initiative supports the objectives of the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, Atal Bhujal Yojana and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)-6.
