- e-KYC: eKYC, often called paperless KYC, is the process of electronically verifying the customer’s credentials. This is mandatory for everyone to avail of the services from any financial institution. It is also called Aadhaar-based eKYC as your identity is verified electronically wherein the service provider can access the details of your Aadhaar from the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) database. Thus, this provides your proof of identity and address to the service provider instantly, eliminating the need for tedious in-person verification.
There are two types of Aadhaar-based e-KYC :
- Using Biometrics
- Using OTP
- Target Olympics Podium Scheme: Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme was formulated in 2014 under overall ambit of National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) with the aim to identify, groom and prepare potential medal prospects for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It includes foreign training, international competition, equipment, and coaching camp besides a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000/- for each athlete. It was particularly launched for India’s Olympic medal dream, at the 2016 (Rio) and 2020 (Tokyo) Olympics.
- Department of Economic Affairs: The Department of Economic Affairs is the nodal agency of the Union Government under the Finance Ministry to formulate and monitor country’s economic policies and programmes having a bearing on domestic and international aspects of economic management. A principal responsibility of this department is the preparation and presentation of the Union Budget to the parliament and budget for the state Governments under President’s Rule and union territory administrations. Other main functions include: Monitoring Macroeconomic policies including fiscal policy and public finance, inflation, public debt management and the functioning of Capital Market including Stock Exchanges. Multilateral and bilateral Official Development Assistance, foreign investments including balance of payments; Production of bank notes and coins of various denominations, and Cadre management, career planning and training of the Indian Economic Service (IES).
- E-BaalNidan: The National Commission for protection of Child Rights , to fulfil its mandate and functions under Section 13 of the CPCR Act, 2005 had developed an online complaint mechanism “E-BaalNidan” in 2015. It is an online portal wherein any person can register a complaint reporting about any violation committed against a child. Further, the portal will have an option of transferring the registered complaints from NCPCR to the concerned State Commission, In case, the State Commission has already taken cognizance of the case.
